The maximum bit rate is encoded in a single hexadecimal octet. By interpreting this hexadecimal octet as an unsigned integer n, the bit rate r  applicable to the PDP context can be calculatd as follows:

                0 < n < 64             n KBit/s                                                  (0 < r < 64)

                64£ n < 128          64 +(n-64)*8 KBit/s           (64£  r £ 568)

                128£ n < 255       576 +(n-128)*64 KBit/s    (576£  r £ 8640)

The value n = 0 indicates the subscribed  Maximum Bit Rate (only applicable to UMTS Quality Of Service Requested), all other values are reserved.
