Validations ASN.1 Parent Types

The International Mobile Equipment Identity number.  The identifier which uniquely identifies the equipment used by the subscriber during the call.

Derivation:

GSM item IMEI (GSM 12.05).

Conditionality:

Must be present within group Equipment Identifier where available.  Will not be present where the terminal equipment is not involved in the call e.g. in forwarded call cases or the mobile equipment is identified by an ESN.

Defined in TS GSM 03.03

Note that whilst the IMEI is 16 digits in length, the check digit is not currently transmitted on the “air interface”.
